Elvin Jabrayil

Elvin Jabrayil works as a lawyer and sworn translator in Germany. He is a member of the Cologne Bar Association. He mainly practices migration, criminal, and family law. In addition, he is a lecturer in civil law at the Bruehl Federal University of Public Administration. Elvin is the author of several academic articles.

Zulfiyya Abdurahimova-Carberry works in the Economics Department of Harvard University and is a Ph.D. candidate in political science at Ghent University in Belgium. Her research focuses on regime change, democratization, authoritarianism, civil society, and welfare regimes with a special focus on the post-Soviet space and Azerbaijan. Zulfiyya earned an MA in regional studies from Harvard University, an MA in political science from the University of Muenster, and a BA in European studies from Azerbaijan University of Languages. She lives with her husband in the USA in the Boston area, and enjoys spending time in nature, traveling, biking, and swimming.

Dr. Polad Poladli completed his doctoral studies in catalytic chemistry in Leipzig, Germany. He has been working in the field of semiconductors for the past 14 years. Currently, he is a leading engineer at “Robert Bosch Semiconductor Manufacturing” company.

Kamran Hajili is a doctor in Germany. He graduated from Faculty of Medicine at the University of Cologne and currently works at Leverkusen Hospital as a cardiologist. He is also a Ph.D. candidate in medicine. His main research areas are cardiology and surgery. Specifically, his Ph.D. research focuses on risk factors for patients with cardiovascular disease undergoing inguinal hernia repair

Nigar van Berkel graduated from Azerbaijan Medical University. She completed her Specialty Training in internal medicine and cardiology in Germany and currently works as a doctor at the University Hospital of Muenster.

Mehriban Valiyeva is a Master of Business Administration (MBA) graduate in Germany. As a civil servant in Azerbaijan, she worked in various positions in state institutions. She taught Sabah groups at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics. Since 2020, she is living in Germany and currently working as a Key Account Manager at the German branch of Societe Generale Equipment Finance (SGEF), one of the world’s largest financial groups.

Leylan Mammadova is a resident doctor in Germany. She graduated from the Faculty of Medical Prevention at the Azerbaijan Medical University. Since her student years, she has actively participated in significant events such as the European Games 2015, the Islamic Solidarity Games 2017, and Formula 1 2017 as a first aider. Since 2020, she has been doing her residency in Germany in the Department of Anesthesiology/Intensive Care. Since 2022, she has been working at the University Clinic of Frankfurt am Main as a resident doctor in Anesthesiology/Intensive Care. Additionally, she is currently specializing in Emergency Medicine. Since 2023, she has been a board member of the AMD/AATIB (Association of Azerbaijani Medical Professionals in Germany). She runs a travel blog (@lylnblg on Instagram) as a hobby, practices boxing, dances, and loves spending time with her friends.

Safa Mustafayeva was born and raised in Sheki. In 2019, she started her bachelor’s degree in Pedagogy of Azerbaijani language and literature at the Faculty of Philology of Ganja State University. She finished her education in 2023 and she is currently continuing her studies in master’s degree program at the same university.
